Alexis Jordan

Born and raised in South Carolina, Alexis Jordan got her first taste of fame as a teenage contestant on the competition show America’s Got Talent in 2006. After being voted off the show in the semifinals, the singer-songwriter began posting videos on YouTube, garnering millions of views. A production team liked the clips enough to fly her to New York to record some tracks ... when who should walk into the studio but Jay-Z? The rap impresario ended up signing her to his new label.

Alexis’s hit ‘Happiness’ reached number one in Norway and the Netherlands, went triple platinum in Australia, and was chosen as the official song of the 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup. Her self-titled debut album was released in February 2011. The pop star, now 19, saw it enter the UK Official Album Charts in the top 10.
