My Chemical Romance
My Chemical Romance rose from the East Coast underground to the forefront of modern rock during the early 2000s. Formed in 2001 in New Jersey, they first gained mainstream notice with their second album, Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge, which spawned the successful singles ‘Helena’ and ‘I’m Not Okay (I Promise).’ Their third album, the conceptual, ultra-ambitious effort The Black Parade, achieved platinum status and was supported by a highly successful world tour.
In 2010, MCR released Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys. The album was well-received, and they won the 2011 NME Award for Best International Band. My Chemical Romance graced the stage at the 2007 EMAs in Munich, performing ‘Teenagers.’
